PackPal
These terms are the agreement between you and us for your use of PackPal. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
PackPal is a planning tool for groups travelling together. It helps a group agree on plans, keep an itinerary, track shared spending, and see who is arriving when.
It is a record-keeping and coordination tool. It is not a travel agency, a booking service, a financial institution, or a source of professional advice. Bookings you make, money you pay, and decisions you take are yours.
This is the most important thing to understand about the app. PackPal records what people have spent and what they owe each other. It does not hold, transmit, or transfer funds between you and anyone else.
When the app shows that one person owes another, that is a calculation over the expenses your group entered. When someone marks a payment as made, that is a record that they say they paid — the app does not verify it and no money changes hands inside PackPal.
We are not a payment processor, money transmitter, escrow service or debt collector. Settling up happens between you, by whatever means you choose. Disputes about who owes what are between the members of your group.
The single exception is buying credits within the app itself, which is handled entirely by Apple — see section 7.
You must be at least 13 years old to use PackPal [[ TO CONFIRM: confirm the minimum age for your markets — some require 16 ]]. You are responsible for your account and for anything done through it. Keep your password and your invite links to yourself; anyone with an invite link can join the trip it was issued for until it is revoked.
Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
You keep ownership of everything you put into PackPal — your trips, plans, expenses, notes, photos and documents. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service: to store your content, and to show it to the other members of the trips you put it in.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for what you share with the people on your trips. Remember that trip content is visible to everyone on that trip.

We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.
The person who creates a trip is its owner. An owner can invite and remove members, change what the trip shows, and delete the trip — which deletes its contents for everyone on it.
If you add someone to a trip by name, you are responsible for having a reasonable basis to include them and for the information you record about them.
Trips are limited to a number of seats. Additional seats and additional trips can be purchased; see the next section.
Your first trip is free. Creating further trips, and adding seats beyond a trip’s included limit, requires a purchase made through the App Store.
All purchases are processed by Apple under Apple’s terms and using Apple’s payment methods. We never receive your card details.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one through Apple’s refund process. Credits are consumed when you use them, and unused credits are removed if you delete your account — we cannot restore or refund those.
We aim to keep PackPal running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may impose limits where necessary to keep the service working for everyone.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. The app can export your itinerary to your calendar, and your documents remain yours to download.
PackPal is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that balances, splits or settle-up suggestions are free of error. They are calculated from what your group entered. Check the numbers before you act on them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from travel arrangements, missed connections, cancelled bookings, or money owed between members of a group.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or [[ TO CONFIRM: minimum liability cap figure and currency ]].
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You may stop using PackPal at any time, and you may delete your account from within the app. Deletion is permanent, and its effects — including what remains visible to the other people on your trips — are described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or where we are required to by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — ownership of content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — do.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use PackPal after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the app and delete your account.
